| An large, three bedroom apartment in a restored 14th Century Monastery is available to buy ready to move into. The apartment has light airy rooms each with superb views of the rolling marche hills and hill towns. The character of the old building has been retained with beamed ceilings and old style window shutters. The 3 bedrooms are light and spacious with high ceilings. There is a spacious bathroom and a shower room along with a utility room. The fittings in the bathrooms and kitchen , the doors and windows are all done to a high standard and the decor is tasteful and in sympathy with the old building. The reception room is generously proportioned and split into a sitting area and dining area. Large windows allow in light and sunshine and optimise the beautiful views. Communal Space. The flat is accessed by the main door through a vaulted ceiling passage way. The original cloister is being restored and is available to be used as an outside area. Surrounded by the ancient wall s of the monastery it makes a magical place to enjoy a drink or to eat lunch or dinner. Tables and chairs are provided. The monastery is split into 6 apartments all with a high degree of privacy and security and beautifully maintained. |

| The apartment is within an ex monastery which dominates the oldest part of the centro storico of Sant Angelo in Pontano, a medieval hill town well stocked with shops, bars and two excellent restaurants. The monastery which incorporates the apartments connects with a superb recently restored church which is used on feast days by the whole village. From the front entrance the view the Sibillini mountains dominate the beautiful view. Private parking is available behind the monastery. The village is a few steps away with a main piazza always buzzing with village life, a market is held every third Sunday of the month. The newly restored tiny theatre is a baroque gem and holds operas, musicals and plays through out the year. From the village a bus i s available to take you into Macerata and which has a train connection to the coast, Ancona Airport, the north and Rome. A car is not essential to staying at the monastery therefore but is advised so as to see the most of this beautiful area. Macerata holds a spectacular open air opera season in July and August each year. See distances and airports below. |
