Just wanted to let you know we really enjoyed our stay at Casa
Menta. It is a beautiful and very comfortable house, we all loved it.
Sitting outside in the morning with a cup of coffee taking in the
views was my favorite. It was absolutely a time to un-stress. We
went sightseeing around
the neighbourhood, walks around SantAngelo and all the other
beautiful towns nearby (Falerone, San Ginesio, Urbi Saglia,
Tolentino etc.) and of
course enjoyed eating at the local restaurants: The Martyns
Belgium.April 2011
This little piece of paradise is hard to leave.
The weather was superb as well. We leave it behind very sadly and
will always remember it.

CASA MENTA :
Casa Menta is a beautiful restored farmhouse set in glorious Italian
countryside with a southfacing 10 x 5 meter pool below the house.
There stunning views over vineyards, hills and meadows and the
mighty Sibillini mountains providing a dramatic and ever
changing backdrop. A perfect Italian Holiday Farmhouse with
accommodation for up to 8 people. Perfect for couples, small groups
and families. The nearest hill top town Sant Angelo in Pontano is
an easy 15 minute stroll away and has restaurants, shops and bars.
Beautifully and individually furnished and finished the house
oozes character and charm with a timeless quality. Two loggias
provide shade and comfort to idle away your time drinking in the
views. The house WIFI throughout and under the loggias. Every
evening, morning and lunch can be spent relaxing under the shade
of the leafy loggia. Outside lighting is provided along with rattan
chairs, table and chairs .Long lazy lunches, idling away the hottest
part of day or a candle dinner watching fireflies , another
unforgettable memory of holidays spent at Casa Menta.
The south facing covered loggia stretches the length of the house
with the same wonderful views of the gentle italian countryside and
the majesty of the mountains
along with a hill town , the bells can be heard peeling down the
valley.The loggia has a large, rustic table , pretty iron chairs and
lighting for dining outside in the evening.
An abundance of jasmine, vines and wisteria provide more shade
under the loggia .which has a long table seats 8/10.Another covered
loggia with rattan chairs and table leading from the kitchen provided
another place to sit in the shade and admire the view with a morning
coffee or glass of wine. The loggias and courtyard have lighting and
become the most used rooms in the house during the summer. The
pool terrace has 8 sun loungers with cushions provided.
A courtyard beside the house is a favourite spot of the owners.
Planted with lavender and bay hedges it is was designed as the
perfect sundowner spot. Sitting
between two fig trees , a cool glass of local prosecco in hand
watching yet another beautiful sunset, star gazing and fire fly
watching. The elegant 10 x 5 meter pool is situated on a lower terrace
from the house. Theterrace is south facing and has uninterrupted
views of the mountains and hills. The pool has roman steps and a
shallow and deep end going to 5 ft 10 " maximum
and is therefore safe for diving. It has a safety ledge all around
however and the area can be fenced temporarily if required.
LAYOUT
Casa Menta is arranged on three floors.
The ground floor has a pretty kitchen with all modern conveniences.
A dishwasher, wide chrome Neff oven and 5 burner gas hob. Large
fridge with ice maker and freezer section. Large butlers type sink and
plenty of storage and cupboard space. The kitchen is well equipped for
8 with good quality china and big glasses.and many utensils, good
knives, tools and cookery books. Microwave, kettle, toaster.Double
glass doors lead out from all the ground floor rooms to 2 covered
loggias.The dining room is next to the kitchen with a large wooden
table and seating for up to 8 people. One bedroom is on this floor
with twin iron frame beds can be double and a shower room next
door with a WC and sink and shower with high quality chrome
fittings.
An old chicken coop has been converted into a utility room with
washing machine and tumble drier

The first floor has a sitting room with a flat screen TV/DVD, 2 x 3
seater sofasa working open fire and double glass doors with a
balcony rail.At the top of the stairs which houses another
grandfather clock is a small library of books and flows into a study
area with a desk, an large open working fireplace and a back door
leading to the back of the house an down to the courtyard by some
stone steps. This room has a large open fire. Another bedroom leads
off this area with glass doors looking out on to a beautiful view. This
room has a king size double bed a large ooden cupboards for storage
bedside lamps and tables The room has space for a travel cot .There
is a generous selection of DVD,s and books for use which must
remain within the house .
Top Floors:
Both other bedrooms are accessed by small staircases with rails. The
master bedroom suite comprises of a wooden 4 posted bed, a huge
inbuilt wardrobe and shelves, dressing table with glass doors and
juliet balcony with another amazing view. A shower room with
inbuilt shower is reached though the bedroom. The private bathroom
has a bath, sink and WC.
The third bedroom above the study room and king size bed room is
accessed by a short wooden staircase it has two twin beds which can
b used as a double. A bathroom on this floor serves the twin room
and the kingsize bedroom below. It has a bath, inbuilt shower, tap
and shower set for the bath, sink and WC with shelving and a
cupboard to store clothes.
All bedrooms are provided with fans, all windows have internal
shutters , all rooms have mosy nets at at least one window the house
has old terracotta tiles on the floors.
SURROUNDING AREA
The local medieval village is a stunning , unspoilt example of a
walled medieval hill town. A beautifully preserved and fully
inhabited village with 3 restaurants, bars, shops for all basic and
other supplies including a fish van, veg , locally sourced meat and
local good wine 3 churches . . There is a chemist ,a bank with an
ATM which accepts visa and foreign cards is almost opposite.
There are 3 bars and 3 excellent restaurants situated above a
beautiful piazza. Close by there are excellent pizzerias and
trattoria. There is an excellent supermarket 8 minutes drive from
the house . A few minutes drive there are several restaurants and
hill towns to explore and try.
The food is typically Marchigianan and absolutely delicious -
accompanied by one of the many superb Marche wines.

Tennis players can use the tennis camp in a nearby village..
The coast is no more than minutes drive with clean white beaches,
night life, Cafe life and Countless fish restaurants.

La Vita is both a restaurant guide and a general service guide to the
area.
The mountains are less than 25 minutes with all kinds of activities
available including a fresh water lake , restaurants and bars, quad
bike hire , hiking , ab sailing and horse rides.
Macerata , the provincial city , a stunning medieval walled city
holds a glorious open air opera season every summer for three
weeks - 20 minutes drive from the house.
Guided tours and treks are available with an english speaking
guide.
