CASA FARFALLE :
Casa Farfalle is an attractively restored country house in a
secluded but accesable location only a few minutes drive
inot the closest thriving hill town hich is well provided
with good shops, excellent restautants and fascinating
architecture, old churches and medieval town walls. The
house is close to the provincial capital Macerata famous for
its renowned open air summer opera festival. Set in
ravishingly beautiful country side with wonderful views
Casa Farfalle offers a sanctuary of peace, surrounded by
lavender beds and butterflies. The interior is stylishly done
with a hand made wooden kitchen, comfortable, tasteful
furnishings and plenty of space for up to 10 people. The
owners have young children and have created a child secure
environment and provide all the necessities for babies or
toddlers.

A formal garden lies to the front of the house surrounding a large
terrace. A table for 8 people with large umbrellas entices alfresco
dining. For further shade and relaxation, the loggia under the
arches is set with both a lounging area and a further table for
dining.
The swimming pool is located on the next terrace down, surrounded
by the olive grove. Sun loungers are provided for 8 people as well
as further large shady umbrellas. A small seating area with table
and chairs for 4 are provided in the shade of the olive grove.
Ground floor
A full-fitted, hand-made maple kitchen with granite work surfaces
provides all modern conveniences (fridge-freezer, double oven -
electric oven with gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing
machine). A large table accommodates 8 people comfortably. Travel
high chair provided for small children. Adjacent sitting room with
comfortable sofas surrounding a log-burning stove. A wall of books
is provided for our guests, as well as a television and DVD player
(DVDs available to borrow during the stay). A small study is
located off the sitting room.
First Floor
3 double bedrooms on the first floor: one double with en-suite
shower room, a further double and a twin room, both served by a
family bathroom. A large corridor links the rooms with the 3 large

Second floor
A family floor with one double bedroom, a shower room and a
further room at the front with a single bed and travel cot available
to borrow.

LOCAL AREA
Loro Piceno, a beautiful medieval hill town is on the hill opposite the
house is a quick drive. with two good supermarkets, butchers, cafes,
ATM, restaurants and bars.
The regional capital Macerata is a 20 minute drive with not only top
quality boutiques and restaurants but a spectacular open air opera
season in the summer.

Abbey Fiastra is a few minutes drive or cycle ride with beautiful walks
around the abbey grounds, a magnificent 12 C abbey, a choice of
excellent restuarants and horse riding.
Roman ruins at Urbsalgia are close by which makes a fascinating
tour. Loreto, Tolentino and further afield Urbino are all within easy
reach.
The local area is busy with festa and Sagras in the summer and
Aumtmn time celebrating harvests and holidays. These are great fun
for all the family, everyone staying up late into the night, eating gelati
and dancing.
Close by the Adriatic coast with its long white beaches and
numerous fish restaurants and nightlife is an easy 40 minute drive.
The Sibilini mountains with all their natural beauty, wonderful
walking, skiing, wild flowers and pony trekking along with water
sports on a natural fresh water lake are 45 minutes drive from the
house.The nearest beach Civitanova is a 40 minute drive offering
sandy beaches and a wide choice of fish restaurants, shops, boutiques
and coffee bars.There is a lively night life scene too. The chic resorts of
Grottamare and San Benedetto are a further 30 minutes to the south.
Monte Conero National Park is about an hours drive to the north
with well marked walks, mountain biking and excellent beaches and
restaurants at Sirolo, Numana and Portonovo. There is a local
agriturismo the closest restaurant.

holds a glorious open air opera season every summer for three
weeks - 20 minutes drive from the house.
