| Casa Civetta, a beautiful holiday house close to Monte San Martino and Amandola in southern Le Marche Italy has spectacular panoramic views, a private pool and garden and accommodation for up to 10 people. Set back on an elevated position the house benefits from superb, panoramic views of the Sibillini mountains and hill top towns.The surrounding area has numerous , fascinating hill towns to explore each with its own character and places of interest.Forty minutes into the mountains there is excellent day trekking, para gliding, picnicking and swimming on offer along with more hill towns with some excellent restaurants serving typical mountain food with earthy ingredients such as black truffle and porcini mushrooms. The coast is one hours drive, the closest beach is Porto San Giorgio on the Adriatic coast. This area of coastline has clean, white sand and pink pebble beaches with safe beach awards and safe, supervised swimming. There is a huge choice of fish and seafood restaurants to choose from. The drive is easy and daily visits to the coast are a popular option. |
| Casa Civetta : The house was completely renovated and restored from the old original stone farmhouse and completed in 2004. A handsome, solid house retaining the former character and charm of the original but updated to offer comfortable, relaxed accommodation for up to 10 people. Approaching the house there is a large, spacious parking area and two large lavender beds. From all sides there are dramatic views of mountains, hill towns and the Marchigianan countryside. close to Amandola, monte San Martino and Smerillo with the coast an hours drive and Ascoli Piceno the exquisite provincial capital 35 minutes drive. |
| The closest village has an excellent restaurant and a tiny shop. Smerillo can be reached on foot in about one hour uphill and is well worth the effort as the village stands 800 meters above sea level and the views to the sea are breathtaking. To drive takes 10 minutes. There are several such towns and villages to explore. Less than an hour is the grand old provincial capital Ascoli Piceno with beautiful piazzas, Palazzi and a fascinating history.It also has elegant boutiques and top notch restaurants and a bar in the central piazza which competes with any of the famous, well visited establishments in Rome or Bologna. The closest airports are Ancona 1 hour 20 mins and Pescara 1 hour and 45 mins. Rome is a 3 hour 30 minute plus drive and is a viable option if staying a week or longer. With its generous supply of charm and atmosphere of relaxation together with its beautiful panoramic location Casa Civetta is an ideal family or two family holiday home in an area packed with places to visit and enjoy. |

| Layout and Details From the front parking area and driveway enter the front door into the ground floor sitting room with chiars and chaise lounge and the dining area with dining table for 10 .A back door takes you out to a garden room and the wooden loggia , shaded with lovely views, table and seating for 10. The kitchen is accessed from the dining area - fully equipped,rustic style kitchen with dishwasher, gas hob, oven, large fridge / freezer and glass doors leading to a herb garden. The utility room and WC are off the kitchen with the washing machine, sink and laundry items. The 1st floor has two double bedrooms , the master bedroom is dual aspect with magnificent views. with a shower room en suite with WC and Sink. Both have storage cupboards. A spacious shower room on this floor serves the 2nd double room, walk in shower, WC, sink. A 1st floor sitting room provides a TV room with two 3 seater sofas, books and games. there is a panoramic balcony accessed through the 1st floor sitting room with a table and chairs - a wonderful place for aperativi enjoying the magnificent view. The 2nd floor has two twin rooms and a double bedroom that can be twin or double - all have hanging space. A family style bathroom serves these bedrooms with a sink and WC. All the room have shutters, tiled floors and room fans, bedside tables and lights. A cot is available and a highchair. Cleaning weekly - good quality linen and towels including pool towels are provided along with a welcome basket. |
