| A lovely village house is a unique medieval property situated on the edge of the beautiful medieval town of Monte San Martino. The front of the property leads directly from winding Via Roma to an intimate piazza a couple of minutes away. Stroll from the house through the town to a prize-winning restuarant, a choice of cafes, and bars, food and chemist shops. Sip cappucino at the bar in the main piazza framed by Palazzos and a 15th century church. On your way home, pick up the makings for a fantastic Italian meal or book yourself into the superb local restaurant for dinner. Back at home, throw open the rear windows of the house and be amazed by the complete change of perspective, with astonishing views of the fields below and Sibillini Mountains in the distance. Enjoy this dramatic view not only from every window in the house but from the garden, from the dining terrace and the lower swimming pool terrace. Listen to church bells, to sheep bells ringing in the distance. From its elevated position, the house enjoys far-reaching views over the central to southern areas of Le Marche - the most beautiful and sought-after in the region. Monte San Martino lies in the centre of this golden triangle, roughly half an hour from stunning adriatic beaches such as Sirolo, among others, and half an hour from hikes and swims in mountain lakes. In winter, there is skiing and snow boarding 45 mins away in Bolognola. The house itself has been lovingly restored to a high standard and retains many special charms. There are six large bedrooms, five with queen beds and a sixth with twins. The house also includes a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room and two living rooms, furnished with pieces made specifically for the house in Indonesia. This is a large property and every area is spacious, comfortable and stylish. The entire house can be rented or the ground floor can be taken separately. In case only the ground floor is rented, the second floor is closed off and never rented to another party. This is a house that can easily accommodate a large group, with room still for privacy and the chance to savour the delights of an unspoiled Italian village as well as breathtaking views of the countryside below. HOUSE LAYOUT Enter from the street into a small hall space into the dining room. Left into a large kitchen . The dining room also leads into a sitting room with a log burner , sofas, CD player, books. Leads out to the small upper balcony and steps down to garden and pool. From the sitting room and dining room into a corridor leading to a bedroom. Double four poster bed . A bathroom with stand in bath shower , WC, Bidet and Sink. End of the corridor leads to an office, sitting room which has a double bed and a screen. This room can be used as a bedroom. a spacious light room which houses the Wifi modem. From the Dining Room stairs lead to the second floor. A large double bedroom with a balcony and a bathroom that can be used as an ensuite. Bath, Shower attachment, WC, Sink A bedroom with twin beds. The main sitting room with seating for 12 furnished with Indonesian dark wood furntiture. Two other bedrooms one twin and one double lead from this room plus another bathroom with shower, bath, WC and sink. Rooms are well furnished and comfortable. There are insect screens at the windows, shutters and fans in the bedrooms. OUTSIDE Access to the garden is gained from the ground floor sitting room down a steep flight of stone steps. A gravel and grass terrace offers magnificent, breathtaking views of miles of rolling countryside, mountains and hill towns. the table is shaded by abundant trained vines. A barbecue and Bread oven / pizza oven are set u on the terrace along with wooden sun beds. A marvellous place to read, snooze after a long lunch . More stone steps leads to the 10 x 4 pool , sun beds and chairs plus parasols are provided. The house has full Wifi . Laundry is provided - if staying longer than a week a linen change is included but extra cleaning is extra but readily available. The Village The medieval village is a stunning , unspoilt example of a walled medieval hill town. A beautifully preserved and fully inhabited village with some priceless art treasures in one of the 4 churches . The house is 2 minutes stroll into the piazza - there is a small , well stocked mini mart which sells meat, vegetable, sundries, wine etc. There is a chemist very close by. A bank with an ATM which accepts visa and foreign cards is almost opposite. There are 3 bars and one excellent restaurant below the bar centrale in the beautiful, open piazza. In summer make sure you enjoy a candlelit dinner under the portico of the bar overlooking this wonderful piazza. The food is typically Marchigianan and absolutely delicious - accompanied by one of the many superb Marche wines. See our wine section for more details. Tennis players can hire the court in the village which possibly has the most dramatic view of any tennis court in the world. Not far away - 15 minutes drive takes you to several lovely hill towns all with excellent restaurants, sophisticated bars or very typical Italian day to day bars, gorgeous architecture, resplendent views, markets, shops, festas and concerts. The coast is no more than 50 minutes drive with clean white beaches, night life, cafe life and countless fish restaurants. See our Annual Restaurant guide which will be in the house.
