CASA ANTONELLA

Casa Anonella is a traditional stone and brick farmhouse close to
Gualdo, snuggled into the side of a hill privately located with
stunning views. The only sounds you will hear in this restful retreat
are birdsong and the occasional rumble of a tractor at work. Nothing
much stirs here other than wildlife; even the tractors take their time
in this leisurely part of the country which is Marche. The days are
long and slow and for the most part hot. The house is surrounded
only by fields, green as far as the eye can see with views towards the
Monti Sibillini which rise up majestically, a perfect harbour for the
setting sun. And the sun doesn't set here without a fanfare of light
and colour only nature can create. You can watch the spectacle from
the terrace whilst you sip a glass of Verdicchio just one of the best
wines of the region or from your lounger by the swimming pool after
a long, lazy afternoon. The country house is truly Italian in style,
with 5 large bedrooms and bathrooms, 3 en-suites. If you like a
kitchen to really work for you then this house has it, designed for
industrial use, it has a dishwasher, independent large fridge,
independent large freezer, 4 ring gas hob, oven, grill/barbecue, 3 sinks
and all utensils. All the rooms are fitted with mosquito nets so while
you may enjoy nature to the full outdoors, nothing comes indoors
unless invited! The land surrounding and belonging to the house,
some 5 hectares, not only provides a safe environment for family
rambles but a substantial playground for the most energetic of
children. The house is close to Gualdo, a wonderful medieval village
only a few minutes drive away or walkable (2 km) for those who
enjoy a bit of exercise on holiday. As well as the historic interest of
the towns, all provide restaurants, shops and during the summer
season a host of events and festivals so frequent you can almost find
an event to attend every day. A lot of them centre on food so if you
are watching your waist line, leave the tape measure at home! Casa
Antonella is a haven of peace; to do nothing other than just breathe
in the air and take in the views is enough for some people. But here in
Le Marche, a region virtually unchanged in hundreds of years,
steeped in history, art and architecture, known for its fine wines and
country cuisine, there is something to delight everybody.
HOUSE LAYOUT:
Entrance hall into the large stting room which leads onto a loggia.
The sitting room has sofas, TV/DVD/ into dining room.
The sitting room has has an open fire.
The kitchen is a stainless steel professional kitchen well equipped
for the keen cook.
Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 2, 3 with ensuite facilities and 4 large with
double bed and TV.
Bedroom 5, large with twin beds.
Bathrooms: En-suite to bedroom 1, 2 and 3 with basin, WC, bidet and
shower.
Large bathroom with bath, basin, WC and bidet.
Ground floor WC, basin and bidet.
Kitchen: Large, industrial stainless steel kitchen with dishwasher,
large independent fridge, large independent freezer, 4 ring gas hob,
grill/BBQ, kettle, electric toaster, blender, 3 sinks, and all utensils.
Utility Room: Small storeroom with washing machine.
Living Rooms: Living room on the 1st floor with open wood burning
fire and bookshelves. Double sofa bed suitable for children. TV (Italian
programmes only). This is a huge room with an upright piano and
billiard table subdivided to allow for a dining room at one end.

SURROUNDING AREA
The local medieval village is a stunning , unspoilt example of a
walled medieval hill town. A beautifully preserved and fully
inhabited village with art treasures in one of the 4 churches . The
house is 8 minutes drive into the piazza - there is a small , well
stocked mini mart which sells meat, vegetable, sundries, wine etc.
There is a chemist very close by. A bank with an ATM which
accepts visa and foreign cards is almost opposite.
There are 3 bars and one excellent restaurant in the hotel situated
in a beautiful, piazza. Next door there is an excellent
pizzeria/trattoria. The is an excellent supermarket 5 minutes drive
from the house . A few minutes drive there are several restaurants
and hill towns to explore and try.
The food is typically Marchigianan and absolutely delicious -
accompanied by one of the many superb Marche wines.

Tennis players can use the tennis camp in the village..
The coast is no more than minutes drive with clean white beaches,
night life, Cafe life and Countless fish restaurants.

La Vita is both a restaurant guide and a general service guide to the
area.
The mountains are less than 25 minutes with all kinds of activities
available including a fresh water lake , restaurants and bars, quad
bike hire , hiking , absailing and horse rides.
Macerata , the provincial city , a stunning medieval walled city
holds a glorious open air opera season every summer for three
weeks - 20 minutes drive from the house.
